The adverts are what make the site free though - no adverts no game ... or at least it would cost you...in all my experiences of lag adeverts didnt cause it..

I have the real cure for lag:
Paracetamol
1kg elephant droppings
1 dodo egg

Put them together and mix well.

I can absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt say that adverts make very little difference.

It is very easy in any browser to switch them off, so just do so and see.

Ad blockers simply make things worse by hogging way more system resources than the ads!!

Believe me, i have tried everything, and untill IE7 i simply couldnt play.

Yes, there is a very slight pause as the adverts load, but its easy to get used to the timing of this, anyone who has played the site for any lenth of time will cease to notice it!

Dont diss the ads, click on them! (some of em are quite cool too!)

Spinner if your so confident about your method of reducing the effect of ads could you post it please? I'm not saying your wrong i'm just hoping your solution can help everyone. Can you guide ppl step by step through what needs to be done?

Simple! turn them off! Right click - un check "play", and thats it..

Dont you read the instructions before you install the flash player?

tread - you do need the ads - you want to play funkypool dont you? the ads are what let you play dude... They dont make a difference - YOUR setup does...

"play" doesn't uncheck on mine. I just press rewind and it stops animation.

Nick - this update has un-sorted the lag issue! Its unplayable again, so the IE7 fix was temporary

Oh well, back to the forums for me...

If your using firefox you can right-click the ad and barr ad's from that incoming server, I wouldn't advocate it unless the ad's really are causing a problem though. Criticising the idea of having ad's is just ungrateful in my opinion.

Just tried again, and poolacekier 7 balled me without me seeing the balls move after break! THATS lag! LOL!

whats up with your lag spinner?

Its the worst its been for a long time. Only on this computer, i can dial in with my laptop and its fine (but aint paying for that when i have a proper broadband connection!)

Typically the game lags so i just line up and have to use full force, then i see the balls in thier final positions. occasionally i see some jerky movement. However today i'm missing shot times, and like i said, poolacekier had time to 7 ball me without me seeing the balls move.

I dunno what anyone else has. but thats lag....

is it such a big deal???? if it is then i feel sorry for those who think it is..............if i get lag i know it straight away and adjust my game accordingly (hit a little harder) i see it this way.........if ur used too playing on a certain table in a pub and you go to a diff pub the cloth maybe thicker (hence game slower) adjust ur game to the table. remember technology can really suck, but in the main its a good thing, so chalk up and get on with it

spinner = i have tried to stop/rewind/play wateva and it dusnt work hence me bein angry at not bein able to play AT ALL causing high annoyance!

tidnab = i try adjusting my game mate but lagg always gets the last laugh and foils me sum way, makin it impossible to win as much as id like, again causin high annoyance!!

You cant adjust your game when your opponent can take 7 shots without you knowing! LOL!

The kind of lag that slows the game a tiny bit is just fun, adds another dimension to the game. However what i was talking about is when you dont see balls move atall...

tread - just disable the animations altogether then in the browser options, thus forcing all ads to display as static images.

ok spinner mate i may just do tht, at the min everyfing is fine- i suffer the tiniest bit of lagg now and agn due to the adverts, but i can live with it as it happens so little...... however tht new orange advert (which seems o have gone) screwed it up gud n propa.....

Btw spinner i never read the instructions of anything i install/play lol. I'm one of the old caveman style blokes who just get something new and dive in until a problem comes along which i cant solve after hours of trying!
