I live in Shetland m8, so the warm weather thing is out! (though its scorching today, in checking the forums with a pint of water and ice!!)

And you're right, i would certainly take my own life before watching Eastenders!!!!!!

Earl is finished??? Aw crap. And I've bin basing my life on Randy's tips too (like drinking beer while you're standing on your head so that it goes straight for the brain and doesn't damage your liver).

Invasion is still on tho. That might freak u out a bit living on a small island tho lol

Lifeless regarding social life? Shows you aint been here m8!

(I wont go into the Orkney/Shetland mixup just now )

Earl is only finished in the US, so if you're watching on C4 there are another 4 episodes to go.. (I'm not that patient tho)

Paul, i'm in Firth m8, but a Cullivoe native (you might have seen me on BBC2 tonight)

Somewhere warmer i guess?

Then again, being born and bred here i coulnt handle much heat, anything over 10 degrees and i'm cooking...

Suppose it should be another thread but anyone else here been following the Office (US)?

Cant wait to see if Brent makes an appearance in the next series!!

Sure is! Especially on a friday night

But yeah, it never ceases to amuse (some of) us locals at all the tourists pointing and taking photo's!

And the problem with TV is that after 24 weeks of shows of that caliber, nothing can come close!

Never mind, its RAW night

Sorry about the orkney mix-up spinner.

To me, you all live in the furthest, bleakest outposts of humanity - and I sort of lump you in together.

Do Orkney and Shetland ppl hate each other then? Is it like that castaway tv show, where you raid each other's beaches in your rowing boats?

And, on the subject, of bleak outposts of humanity, I'm reading Fergus Fleming's 90 Degrees North at the moment, all about early attempts to make it through the ice and reach the North Pole. Can you see the North Pole from your bedroom window? Can you?

PS I'm sure it's better than the craphole town I live in mind, and you probably have far less chance of getting shot by yardies and east european gangsters.

LOL yeah we're relatively violence free here...

And we pilliaged Orkney as Vikings decades ago so there's no hard feelings anymore. well, not many anyways!

I'm liking the impressionist show "dead ringers" it really is funny and they take off the people well.

Monday , 9:00pm , it beats "new tricks" put it that way!
