the thing about chalk would be if like said above you use too little it would miscue , then ppl will just use full chalk .then if you want it more realistic then you would have to introduce a code for the amount of spin you put on and the amount of chalk you use ... then maybe that would work . would need ait of tweaking but it should work .

a mis-cue isnt when you dont have control over your mouse! it's when you (generally) try to put some kind of spin on the ball and you dont connect properly, due to lack of chalk sometimes or other times trying to put too much spin on. This results usually in the ball going where ever it wants (and generally not very far!). You end up missing the ball you was going for all together. What you said is mis control of the mouse, this is simply not hitting the shot hard enough. not a mis-cue. Thats why chalk would be a good addition, more involvement in the game. And its not a rule, its just what you NEED to do to play pool or snooker.

I personally wouldn't want this on the game. As has been said before, its an arcade game first and foremost, rather than a simulation. I cannot see what it would realistically add to the game. IE, do you just need to press another button in between shots to chalk your cue? The original basic game needs to be kept simple IMO.

If we are talking about a career based game in the future, then this is the sort of thing that I could see being added in, as the more options etc available and levels of skill the better.

As I said before, this is just my opinion, not one that reflects the site. Afterall, thats what discussing ideas is all about.

I've played online pool games where you have to chalk the cue, and it ends up being a pain. Between shots u cant just have a swig of beer etc, cos u have to remember to keep scratching about with a piece of pretend chalk, otherwise your shots start going weird. I agree it makes it more realistic, but in all truth, I'd love to find a self-chalking cue down the pub.

I see both your points and after simons i reckon maybe it can wait until the career point of this game. Would be a good addition to that part of the game. Simon, you never did get back to me regarding that other issue did you.....pfft, i'll never trust your promises again hehe
