I know a charge isn't the newest of ideas but a £10 annual (or signing) fee would solve every existing problem concerning abusive players and multi-users.

If users had to pay £10 to start each new account, they would think twice before being abusive and getting themselves banned. Also, nobody would use 3 or 4 player names when each one costs them extra.

And of course, a charge could raise maybe quarter of a million a year, which can only be good for the site.

If nick charged people for signing up new users would not join and when people get banned theyd go over to bleep bleep bleep .

That means nick would lose users every year , the only respective players are the ones who are around 800+ in rank and if people dont learn to enjoy the game and dont get a chance nick will end up with next to no users .

He also states in the help section that the core game would always be free .

If users were banned then they would just sign in as guests and repeat abuse for the fact theyd have to pay ten pounds to get back in .

I agree. It was created as a free site so it should stay that way.

True that it may well put new users off. What if new users played for six months free, and then signed up if they wanted to stay? That'd be long enough to get them addicted.

Admittedly some would rotate and restart each six months, but you'd have to be pretty tight-fisted to throw away your name and stats for the sake of 80 pence a month.

no ... as said above the core game is always free and its a game so why would they be botherd about there rank ? most ppl change names every 6 month anyways .

to pay the £10 pounds ppl would need a credit card, most users on this site are under 18, and would not be have a credit card so the site would immediatly lose thousands of members, thats not taking into acount the members with a credit card hu just dont want 2 pay

Just make it so only premium members can have more than 1 account?

The whole reason this was suggested (in another thread) was as an option to try to prevent the current trend of cheating (in the context of basic right and wrong, as opposed to funkypool rules) by people creating new names willy-nilly..

You only ever need, and should be allowed, one account.

There still hasnt been one reason given for having more than one account which isnt simply to abuse the system..

as guess_who said - and also most under 16's have parents with credit cards, so ability to make a small payment isn't really the issue

As for banned users going over to 'beep beep beep' ...that's good aint it. If they got themselves permanently banned, they've gotta be pretty undesirable - either persistantly abusive or cheats. Why do you want them back?

And remember, the number of registered users on the site dont mean nothing until multi-usernames are quashed!

I'm positive the rate of membership and use would increase if this were introduced. People come here to play the best poolgame around - not just because its free!

I agree with spinner, i as a regular user would pay for this game. I dont play just cos its free, i play cos its addictive as hell and really challenging. Best pool game around by far. Cant wait for premium, will be signing up.

Its not the fact that its free . If new users were to join this site then they would just laugh at the £10 sign up fee . Id pay for this site and il pay for premium . But the simple fact is if when a new user sees £10 fee whilst signing up then the user would go to the other site . Ye this is the best site on the net for pool but if no one wants to pay for it then the other site ( no names ) would gain a hell of alot more users and then update and update until it gets better than this site . Nick wants users for this site and doesnt want all his hard work ruined because of a silly sign up fee . If a user sees "fee" or "payment" theyd just close the window . Its premium that needs sign up fees not the core game
