what is the point in pros not playing intermediates, newbies etc because they're worried about rank?

you should realise this is only a game and shouldn't be taken seriously.

and for the players who join your room, try the golden break, then leave. please stop, its annoying

im just saying whats the point in playing if your not gonna play someone.

The majority of pros don't care about their rank anyway. If your good at this game people will tell you, don't need a number to do it.

Rank means nothing anyway, it's all about them tourny wins!

i agree with dave and player_x, they talk alot of sense need to be heard more often

but most pros really do care about there ranking alot!

some pros dont....but deep down they wouldnt want to see it drop 4 points if they lost

I don't care about my rating up to a point, when I 1st got to 900 i happily let it drop by 20 points because the games I was playing at the time were good fun

However, if my rating ever looks like it's going to go out of the top 20, I tend not to play the best players for long matches (more than 10 frames) untill I'm a little higher. This isn't so much about being worried about how the rating looks but I wanna be the 1st player to have stayed in the top 20 for over a year. I've been there since the new rating system was introduced so i'm not 100% sure how long i've been there (if sum1 could enlighten me i'd be grateful ) After the year I might try losing a few an gettin to 800 rating an enjoying the amazing amount of points you can get

Personally I think as soon as each player plays one shot the result should count, that way mcquistons problem would be solved, players wouldn't try the golden break and then leave because they would lose.

yea exactly krauser, but theres the problem :say you finish the match, ur gonna leave but ur opponent breaks, and then you lose.

so maybe a "call game" feature should be put in place along with krausers idea

A call button would be a great idea. I'll play just about anyone. unless they're newbies on 750 coz you know they're pro's thinking they're great..wouldnt give them the satisfaction!
