4-0. That's the sort of score we should be winning by for a country as big as England against teams of Northern Ireland's quality. Rooney played well yet again, so did Joe Cole, our best player.

The only time I ever liked the England squad was when they hammered Germany 5-0, and all the players that scored played for Liverpool.

on the subject of putting ashley cole left wing, WAYNE BRIDGE left back hes an excellent consistent player who does his job, if this dont work then stuart downing could be an option from the subs bench , i know this is after the event, but for future games

personally, i wudnt play a cole left mid hes quality and joe cole finally seems to have started performing. also, i think it is finally time for terry to play centre back, rio is awesome but sol campell isnt what he used to be. upfront, altho owen scored i dont rate the guy, misses sitters, lost some pace, dosent seem to know how to balance and id play defoe or smith, having sed tht i dont think smith scores or plays enuff to warrant first team place. my team-

Looks a good team. thats prob how it will be in the world cup just wiv owen instead of defoe althought i do agree defoe deserves a place in the team more than owen. but then again owen works well in the england team even though he isnt that good.

ok, rooney is massivley over rated, but yes he is our best attacker. but at that age so was owen. how long before rooney's skills die but we still play him anyway? thats whats happened to owen.

owen realli is terrible. if he scores a match winning hat trick in the world cup final against brazil then i will still stand by my statement that he is now crap. even wen he scored that hat trick against germany (and u can disagree if u want) he still didnt play well then, he just was in the right plce at the right time. if u look at the stats, he had about 10 goal scoring chances to himself and scored 3. world class striker?

and in goal, there is a massive crisis. we need david seaman back, from 8 years ago, when he was a true great. paul robinson is possibly the best we have (david james shouldnt even be in the squad) butwe still need a better goalie. i support leicester city, and when ian walker was injured we had (i think his first name was ian) taylor from arsenal. i think he is english, and if he is he should definately be considered for the squad. he should also play for arsenal, cuz lehman and almunia (spell check?) are absolutely blindingly awful!
