lool how bout enforcing undercover moderators...
sumone less inconspiciuous...just a moderator without a ' * ' at the beginning of name and the status (Moderator)..
..that way no-one except mods and admins would know who it was. 'Cos all this shizzle starts wen they aint in the room

just like send complaint, except like......"report chat courtesy of andyx" and then just send the problem and its recieved by mod. except u wont know who gotit, and if there aint any 'undercover mods' online it'll tell ya?

The only real problem identified here is the lack of 24/7 moderator coverage, and it is a problem we're looking into.

The other steps are down to member choice. We have equipped members with the ability to deal with troublemaking users.

Agreed Nick..The only problem is the ratio of abusive guests to guests that you may want to talk to...you can't spend all night clicking "ignore user" on individual guests, and you can't click "ignore guests" because quite a few you want to talk to...

What is the maximun number or people you can ignore anyway?

If, for you, guests are more pain than gain select ignore all guests. Whether guests ought to be muted or not has been discussed often, with the end result being we leave it upto the individual to decide.

1) Admin can't hire anymore mods until there are people responsible enough to be mods. The only one I've seen around is redhot but he's not on enough. Pity too, great guy.

2) For gods sake ignore it, if someone calls your mum a hooker over the computer one night I'm pretty sure this won't send you into a fit and you won't lose alot of sleep over it.

Simple as when the mods are available they will be hired, until then we will just have to put up with people like this....
