why not make it a slightly marathon tournament, so each round is the best of three games...you could never have more than three games in a round, as now... UK, then US, then 9Ball...in each round. so each round is either going to be 3-0, or 2-1. You could make the final best of six. Or something

I was thinking along the lines of different games in each game, as opposed to each round, with the comp selecting them at random (or just cycling thru starting wherever..)

The problem i see with "per round" rotations is that the second round would be full of the best players of whatever game was played in the first round..

(that may seem confusing but anyone who could program a ZX81 will be following me ok!)

as Stubbsy suggested it was a weekly thing, why not play all three game types in each round!! that way, you have to beat someone in two out of the three disciplines in order to progress...means if someone's really good at US 8 ball, but weak in other two, it'll show them up...

Yeah thats what initaly thought, Cos it can go to a decider in that fromat also.

The final could either be the same again or perhaps the first to reach 5 games, or maybe 3.

With the computer randomly generating the games to play.

Or, play each game twice in the final...and if it's still drawn at three all...have a randomly generated sudden death game..
Skill, and stamina to win this one...it is the ULTIMATE tournament, after all!

If it's classed as a once-a-week, marathon style tournament, no need, is there? I don't think the round times will be much longer than they are now, and there probably won't be as much of a difference between the fastest and slowest games...

I suppose not...

Instead of the UK Marathon Tournament can we replace it with the Tri disipline tournament

this is how i think it should work, all the 3 types of games need to be played fairly so this is what i came up with..
Round 1: a mix between the 3 styles of 8ball US and UK and 9ball US
Round 2:a mix between the 3 styles of 8ball US and UK and 9ball US
Round 3:a mix between the 3 styles of 8ball US and UK and 9ball US

Semis: (first to 4) a mix between the 3 styles of 8ball US and UK and 9ball US between possible 7 frames.

Final: (first to 5) a mix between the 3 styles of 8ball US and UK and 9ball US between a possible 9 frames.

The style of game are chosen in a order say starting with:

US 8BALL
UK 8BALL
US 9BALL

having this order being carried on through the whole tournament?

You are missing a round

Leave the number of frames per round the same, just make it so it's a different game type each frame.

Keep the current marathon tho, just have this new one on a sunday or sumthin, n i think it's a great idea ^_^
