Players age by the way. Sol has been deteriorating for some time now and Arsene Wenger only realized against Bolton, yet insisted on playing him against West Ham too. In Sol's defence he has been England's best centre half for a number of years now, even though he's a scummy Arsenal player. Also the other centre half against Bolton and West Ham think it could have been Phillipe Senderos, didn't play brilliant either. Having said that both full backs were poor too. Sol made the mistakes that cost goals so he was noticed however one bad performance does not make a bad season. Arsene Wenger is the man to blame, sold the best player, found no-one to replace him. Bought player's who were simply not at Arsenal's level. Van Persie was a good buy, Reyes was far far too much. Almunia, Lehmann, Diaby, Walcott, Adebayor, Poom, Flamini, Fabregas, etc, etc. All good players, but theres not a Patrick Vieira in there.Vieira is an irreplaceable player. Silly decision to let him go.
