Here's a blood pressure limiting idea.. how about anytime a user types "asl" into any chat window it closes funkypool and opens a google search for "free teen chatrooms"...

I know it's a pain, but at least it's better than being called a peado or other equally horrible things.

The thought has crossed my mind a few times now to leave the game for a while, or at least untill the premium version is released.

I have children aged 4 and 6 who both read and it's very frustrating when abuse comes on the screen and i have to cover the offending material with my hand or click the homepage.

So really 'asl' is a breath of fresh air to me ; )

i agree pool life its not bad as a conversation starter in a game but its very anoying when u get 3 or 4 pm windows come up at once when u r in members bar and just want to practice. and if u just close window they come back with something insulting what r u suppose to do u cant answer them all.

i just reply 'soz i dont do asl' if they want to know that (well age is approximate) then they can type in ur username on main page and find out for themselves....or if its guests askin tick ignore guests in options and ne 1 not onfreinds list click ignore pm while competing too in options easy peasy lemon squeezy.

After my earlier post i've decided to give the game a rest for a good while.

It's probably a stupid move, but i guess some people take knocks better than others. There are only so many times you can get called, or have to read vile insults before it grinds you down.

Anyway, thank-you for the last 4 months guys and keep up the good work. I will be 1st in the queue when the premium version arrives.......'pool_life Palace' anyone? ; )

Just close the window, if they write back then ignore them. Thats my policy, unless they ammuse me, in which case I let them speak for a bit to see if they are worth talking to...

I understand totally pool_life, my little girl is often watching as well. This is part of my reason for suggesting (a while ago) that the chat in the main window should be removed, or at least the option to ignore it.

This is why i just log off if i get furhter than quarter finals in a tourney. The rooms just fill up with people typing abuse and unless i spend my game time clicking the ignore button there is no way of getting rid of it.

If all chat were moved to a popup window its easy to move it out of the way and ignore it the old fashioned way!

I created another thread asking if we could, sort of name and shame these abusive users (i was subject to filth by someone pm'ing me) but i got a negative response.
Its sad that some of the older users feel they need to quit because of this abuse.
The last statement of spinners post sounds good,to be able to move it out of the way, that way,its still there for others,but some have the option to ignore "the old fashioned way" :-)

i have 4 girls myself the oldest being 10 year old twins i will not let them watch me play at all because of some of the things that get pmed to me there has to be some other way to combat this...

aint it a bit sad anyway that ppl come on a pool site to try and get c yber anyway surely theres enough other sites!!
