when you have won a few games in a row a bracket comes up like 3/8 what does it mean if you get to 8? an what happens????

No, when you don't do anything for 15 minutes you go idle(log out).

1/8 or what ever it says basically means you have to many internet ports open.

E.g. if you are downloading something and on msn and pool. Close 1

When you get to 8/8 you get logged out.

or the server is playing up

server dont affect that much as ollie said lagging basically ... server will affect but thats very little of seeing it

along similar lines as to what guess_who said, but a little different.

Basically, nick's inserted a code which monitors a client's (the user's) internet connection. When an internet connection goes down, or runs out of bandwidth due to downloads, then nick's script is enabled.

The 1/8 simply means nick's code is in effect and the system's tried 1 out of its 8 times, to reconnect.
If the system gets to 8/8 and the users connection still hasn't picked up, reconnected, then the user will be kicked from the game server by not responding.

Nice code!

For those of you who use dial-up, set your internet connection settings so that if you log out, you can re-dial automaticaly. Therefore, you should be able to log back onto the internet before the server reaches the end of it's 8th attempt and log you out. This would help if you were to be in a tournament etc.

For most broadband users, this should be fine anyway.

The only other thing I'd add to that is be careful if you're using other programmes that can use all the available internet connection eg downloads, file sharing software, or streaming software.

funkypool game client is polite, and will not necessarily take priority like MSN does.

So in English.... if you're seeing the connection failing you may have to shut down other programmes.
