this is the england team i would play in the World Cup. to me, i cannot see any flaws in this squad. anyone else think different?

Thats a pretty good team I reckon....

Personally I would put Cole at left back, and play King as a holding midfielder, giving Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard more room to create.

But would be happy with either line up.....

Ermmm...would like to see some Newcastle players. Parker? Taylor (the drama queen!)? Dyer?

I'd definately have Dyer on the bench......

Maybe Parker as well, but personally I rate King higher..

where are the pompey representatives?

are they in the D team or E team?

Matt Taylor, left back. Probably about 4th choice.

Gary O Neil, under 21 captain (until very recently) high hopes for the future, when Beckham etc retire.....

Jamie Ashdown, very promising keeper.

All 3 are very young, and have plenty of time to break into the national team...although it is impossible to see that happen in the 3 positions the above play until the current retire......

dyer is absolutley useless

im a newcastle fan and i agree...dyer is useless. I like the team and think its a toss up between alshley cole and joe cole but a nice team.

yeah you're right, between joe cole and ashley cole. sven should either play Ashley in LM or start the match with Joe in LM

i fail to see why Joe Cole doesn't start anyway. a year ago i'd have said he has no place in the england squad but he's grown so much. he can be a world class player, look at how well he works at chelsea with lampard and terry

a lot of people hate chelsea because they "bought" the title. but chelsea are helping the england squad. they have a strong english influence and with players like lampard, terry and cole, they're ensuring our english players get a game every week

very true, i would like to see players in not so good clubs as you may call them like: Bent and murphy from Charlton, Parker from newcastle, Jenas and Carrick from Tottenham etc etc.

I think we do have a chance of a world cup win if we can keep this confidence up!

Did any of you watch Poland v Englnad. We played ok, i seem to think in my own mind that SW-Phillips is better than Beckham-I dont think hes a good team leader-for instance the two red cards-is a captin suppose to retaliate like that? Its something i would expect from rooney! lol

Beckham is a good captain he puts 110% into every game for England and lifts the squad when he plays. Although I think Lampard would be better.....
