You live in the same area as me and everybody says Scon so LOL. Thanks for finally admitting I'm right.

Its a SCONE if you look at the rhyming words.

I mean, there's bone. They help keep us together. Then there's hone. And Gnome. And phone! Ah yes, and dome. And home. Ah, I like home. I especially like it's tone. And zone! I'm definitely in the scone zone.

In contrast, lets look at all the words that rhyme with 'scon'.

Gone (yep you're alone)
Swan (they'll break your arms with their wings if you're not careful)
Bomb (these kill people)

And finally... The point to end all points. This is what is called, the ultimate point....

THERE'S AN E ON THE END!
Enough said I think.

Yes, but if you asked for a 'scone' people may hear you incorrectly and give you a stone to eat (Bad times!)

Having a SCON would eliminate this problem straight away (Good Times!)

No squeezy if you said scone to somebody you'd be put in the loony bin.

7 out of 10 of my flatmates said that it was pronounced scon.

We come from all over the UK.

ZEREFORE! Scon is the correct way to say it.

Or they may just give you a scone. Both possibilities lol.

I asked my flatmates and 2 said scone, 1 said scon and 5 did not know what they were. Only two of us are English though but once we explained they said they would call it a scone. So that is 6 out of 8 if their votes can count.
