outta my whole life of entering tournys ive only got 'put out' of one, i clicked the invite and my game stalled, and that was back in the day when adam and nicknax did em randomly.

If you use internet explorer: There is a nice neat feature for members, found in the game options (which i believe you must have disable, considering it's enabled by default).

This feature is found within the game tab of the options screen.

It is called:- Confirm dialog when exiting

If you tick this box, you should get a message every time the game window is removed; whether it be by an advert or home page loading on top of the screen or accidentally pressing the cross, it will cover you!
