Hey, just wondering about the swearing filters.

Surely they were placed there to stop swearing, and are succesful because when somebody swears it comes up as a load of stars. Meaning less booting for the mods and admin for swearing because they can't see the swears.

Just curious why boot when you see stars? it ain't swearing is it? It was placed to give the mods and admin an easier time whilst being online, but they still create the work for themselves by booting when they see stars anyway

Makes no sense to me, you're just doing the same after the filter as what you did before, so nothing has changed.

I have tried and tested this, i even had just put in *'s to make up about 13 letters and they gave me a warning for it, more communication needs to be done here 4 users and mods.

I only mention it when the stars are placed in a position that makes it look like it represents a filtered word.

Its filtered meani ng its not a swear word anymore, whats the point in a filter if when u see the filter you boot for it anyway? might aswell just remove it, and boot when you see a swear word

I agree, if the occasional word is filtered we can ignore it.

If repeated words are filtered then we should deal with under the same guidelines as spamming.

If you are booted for swearing when filtered please don't complain about it - if you're worried that something might get you booted - don't do it :)
