I remember opening my GCSEs and realising how bright I was.

I remember opening my A Levels and realising how lazy I was.

gav, you and I are like 2 peas in a pod. Yeah, the exact same as me, but I realised that I was bright when I discovered beer. What a glorious day, when I could walk into most pubs at 15 and get a beer. It was during my a-levels when my beautiful relationship with pubs began to blossom.

Anyway ... to everyone opening GCSE results, good luck, you can't change them now but you'll all do fine. Count yourself a little lucky that people havn't jumped on the "GCSE's are worthless" bandwaggon like they have with A-levels.

GCSEs are the easiest exams you'll take. What makes them hard is that you have 9 subjects to study for.

The thing with A Levels is, you have a lot more time to focus and apply yourself - but the work is hard. A Levels, in mine and others opinion, are the hardest exams you'll ever take (with the exception of Medicine and Law types.. lol).

The education system at the moment, by and large, is pretty good.

And if exams are getting easier, pupils are getting dumber. (Which obviously is tripe).

Anyone who can read can get GCSEs. A Levels sort the wheat from the chaf.
