Latest is 38 dead and 700 injured, but both are expected to rise.
Thoughts tonight are with all those who were killed or injured, and thoughts to all their family and friends.
Yesterday, celebration as London gets to host the 2012 Olympics, tonight devastation.

There could well be a link, although I would suggest it was a small factor rather than the major factor. Personally I think the fact that all the worlds leaders are in Scotland for G8 and that we are still occupying Iraq have more to do with it.

n.b I'm quite happy to talk to you about why I think those condoning the attack should be banned, but I'd rather do it via pm when I'm on, or by e mail (contact us) as I wouldn't like to interupt the thread.
Its fine for people to discuss reasons, but I wouldn't like anyone saying that todays events SHOULD have happened, thats what I meant when I said condone.

sure thing si, i like discussion (i actually do not think it is a morally right course of action, or at least it wouldnt be for me, because i feel that is wrong. but i do not blame the people who did it fr what they have done. their circumstances were clearly different from mine) i dont think it has much to do with G8, it would surely have been nearer to gleneagles. i would have thought it more likely just the next hit after 9/11, it takes time to plan an attack, and our defences have gone down. after all al quaeda have claimed responsibility, and they have nothing to do with iraq.

i,m all for free speech but there is surely no way anyone can condone what happened.this is as terrible an inditement as to the value people place on life.i would rather log off than listen to anyone trying to condone these atrocities.

i think that freedom of speech is possibly the most important liberty we have. without it, every time someone was not free to do something else, practise religion or eat or whatever, then military action would be necessary
and if freedom is conditional then it is not true freedom. it cant be freedom of speech except when it involves killing, or except when its something i feel strongly about

we should care because it is human life at risk. if you dont like the word we substitute it for the word "one". i am born in england but i am ashamed to call myself such because of the disgusting verbal attack on islam over the last couple of days. when we "liberated" iraq from saddam hussein and the iraqi people from oppression we were called heroes. i believe we were wrong to enforce themselves upon them, but yet we were not called terrorists, no one said "damn those christians with their prejudice, their fear of opposition, and their greed." all these guys are trying to do is liberate their country from what they see as oppression, just as we did a year ago or however long it was

some people that survived the bus incident said that infact they had seen a nervous man in the bus and that as soon as he sat down the bus exploded
The 61-year-old told The Sun: "I noticed him as he looked nervous. He was continually diving into his bag, rummaging round and looking in it."
Seconds after Mr Jones stepped off the bus, it exploded with the "bomber" still on board.
Terence Mutasa, 27, a staff nurse at University College hospital, told The Sun: "I treated two girls in their 20s who were involved in the bus bomb.
"They were saying some guy came and sat down and that he exploded."
He added: "They said the guy just sat down and the explosion happened. They thought it was a suicide bomber."
