I worry about your comments Ash

UEFA can only sanction what happens during games and inside Stadia, nothing to do with fans in town centres etc
not condoning anything there though

however its a massive failure by UEFA to ensure ALL fans safety in the ground

a total lack of security, in a world where ISIS etc is a massive threat, how could those events last night be blamed on England fans

a bloody flare gun was used, that so easily could've been a hand gun

flares could've easily be something else

that's isn't down to England fans, a rope and no Police in the ground, total joke

UEFA before opening their own mouths should get their own house in order

IF England or Russia, aren't involved in such a competition then they'll be no reason for any English/Russian louts to be anywhere near the stadiums. Correct UEFA can only discipline the actions from within the grounds but when foreign country towns and places are being constantly trashed, tarnished and destroyed then surely they have try to work with the local police and authorities too.

I think you've misinterpreted my post completely, I aren't only blaming English fans etc Russians and the French Ultras are equally to blame. The Russians after the match are definitely responsible there and the incidents where a strong group of Russians have attacked for the sake of it beforehand.

The English fans behaviour cannot be solely blamed on others...they have disgraced their country and ruined for many what should have been a great competition. They are to blame as well!

Maybe but Russia started it, What do you expect England to do, not defend themselves, take a beating and be in a hospital or try and use self defence and at least defend yourself until it is safe. The blame is on Russian Fans, If they didn't charge English Fans then no riot.

and you can't blame the violence on England, its a global event and at these events, violence normally follows. This is what the terrorists want. People fighting and causing casualties. I would NEVER go to a football world cup because of this even if i was Footballs #1 fan.because there is also violence and i will never get involved in violence.

Innocent English fans got tear gassed and caged up and you agree with that?

Not saying because i'm English but just based on what i have seen. England is NOT to blame for this.

Glad i'm not watching the Euro's now.

however outside on Friday night a Russian lass walked over to the police and a bottle was thrown and hit her
it was English fans that through that bottle

then it kicked off again

its 50/50 who is responsible for the trouble outside tbh
be it French, Russian or the English

but its so funny all fans were sat together drinking during the day then the minute it became dark
it all kicked off again

no matter what, there is an element within the England fans that just want a fight
unfortunately they encourage others then total carnage ensues

was part of all this crap many years ago
with Sunderland Casuals but some grow up
some don't

there are always plenty of people who have a drink
and are easily lead

then they pay a heavy price

Ah in that instance England fans are to blame, Don't get why people resort to violence though in general. Learn from the wars around the world, Learn from Liverpool disaster.

I don't blame team management though and disqualifying both teams won't change anything for me. I do agree in a sense with a warning but what can the teams really do in this situation.

A warning of expulsion is a good start - hopefully the thugs not fans who are determined to get caught up or even create unnecessary havoc might trigger a little common sense and realize their actions have severe consequences.

It's a real shame as it's only the minority. Regardless who's to blame and it's so easy to point the finger ALL fans have to take responsibility and try to display some decency when abroad.

The ONLY news which should be coming out of France and the Euro 2016 itself should be the fine football played on the pitch. Instead the papers being brim full of unnecessary crap (violence) between fans.

An alcohol ban has been enforced now - hopefully that will deter the mindless morons from engaging in such pathetic activity. I don't want any team being expelled but also i do NOT want to see or be subjected to horrific scenes via television broadcasts, social media or in the tabloids.

Good about Alcohol Ban as many violence leads from booze, Alcohol should be banned from all World Football games. Made lead to violence without it but better without Alcohol as people has a clear head and at least then its down to the individual and then if it happened then arrest ones responsible.

"Maybe Russia started it" lol.ah come on man, you English has been known to be the biggest football hooligans throughout the history of football :)

Blaming alcohol is only part of the issue, look at Irish-biggest drunks in there and they are happy out. Well until now anyway...

And Russians ain't any better. vodka is a drink for smart men, but they don't know it.

I'd disqualify both teams just to show others that this kind of behaviour is not accepted. I'm sure they will remember it the next time they qualify for a major event.

From what i read they did as i said (Read News at the time), if someone came at you would you take a beating, risk a life injury or would you defend yourself? the answer is obvious.

Then i read Craig's comment and i'm fair to say England started that one so equally to blame.

With all the wars going off, you would think people had sense, clearly not.

U read and heard it from British news. Did u really expected them to admit it lol.
If something like that happens and it involves British football fans, then anyone with a bit of sense should understand straight away that the usual culprits are at it again. Its extremely blue-eyed to to think that someone else started it, regardless what media says.

I know not all of yous are like that.

Anyone backing any teams today??

Who ever fights in euros that team should be sent home & all returning fans from france should be locked up on arrival at the airport! Simple.

Republic of Ireland played very well, nullified Ibrahimovic as much as possible. Very unfortunate to score the own goal, felt we were robbed tbh.

Still a draw's better than a defeat, C'mon Ireland Belgium next...Lukaku was woeful...Coral summed up his performance with one GIF

Before the game I said England should win, but I wouldnt put money on it (I thought 2-1 with Bale scoring first, kicking myself there). Seeing the line ups I though we might not even deserve to win never mind win. No faith in Hodgson. When he made those half time subs though, I believed and put my money on those strikers and then England at 1-1.

Positive changes, positive for effects. Stick with that Roy and we have a chance of doing well.

Great to see Northern Ireland go through to last 16. Honestly didn't expect all 3 Home Nations to make it
