Hopefully Connor is on soon, been hanging around all day on lappy and phone. He did login briefly an hour ago but no message so I guess he'll be back on soon. This was the time we usually arranged for.

First 2 frames we were rubbish and we took one each. Then he hit a runout, I hit a good finish, he replied with another runout. After a pause he was kind enough to give me my break since he'd ended up with the first break after running the rack, oddly I cleared well in the friendly. Tried running the rack but underhit at the end with a difficult shot left to get onto my last colour. He then had a good break but unlucky position so no runout (thankfully), but he missed a simple yellow for the win. Another runout effort for me but right near the end again the cue ball managed to hit the knuckle of the middle pocket (some feat on the 8uk table) and it went off at an odd angle to give me no good position to finish up. Again though, he missed a simple red with the chance to win to let me off the hook.

Good games, on reflection it was a good match up but he was definitely the better player and deserved the win. His break was on fire and I could do little about it, but he was a real pleasure to play and get on with (killed me with flattery too, what a dirty trick). All the best buddy!
