Guys I'm going to take a break from playing for a bit - had some devastating news last evening - I'll still be Co-Captain but wont be playing any fixtures at the moment. My mum had her operation yesterday morning and they decided to fit a catheter and keep her in on ward overnight.

I went to see her last evening along with my father and brother during Visiting Hours and when we were there the doctor & surgeon closed the partition curtains and delivered their diagnosis. There is a 90% chance of her having Urethral Cancer. They have located a sinister looking blockage which if not treated could prove to be disastrous in the waterpipe itself. Dependent on the biopsy results taken during the operation then we do not know what course of action is available or should be pursued, but 100% we will FIGHT it head on.

Not only am i having to be strong mentally for myself but my father who it has crippled, I have every confidence this team and the fantastic players we have here are perfectly well equipped to mount challenges on every scale, so please bear with me.

James I'd appreciate to be removed from the Internal competitions too, so i can focus on helping my mum and family best i can.

I will still submit team selections and I'll be as supportive and helpful with results, updating fixtures, subs/swaps etc but just won't be playing at all at this present difficult time.

Best wishes are with your mum and dad mate, I would say prayers but I'm an atheist so that would be a lie.
Remember hospitals and doctors give everyone worst case scenarios to prepare people for the worst case and cover themselves....nobody ever complains when they find out things are better than they were told but they bloody well do when things are worse.
They'll have the professionals (not mattywellie and dave) providing the doom so get some positivity going from yourself.

True mate, thanks. Nothing wrong with having hopes and aspirations, I do think the hospitals and their staff do an awesome job and where possible if there's any ray of light they are able to provide then they do their best.

Typical human trait is to fear the worst case scenario, but i do agree trying to create and be positive at most times is a crucial element in beating such an unwelcome and uninvited deadly disease which has no place within my family.

So we will fight it head on!

I'm a mix of both, i don't believe in god as such but i do believe in heaven and hell and also that our souls move on (From Final Fantasy 7 but i do believe it as such).

Anyways i'm sure thinks will be okay mate
