The reason tournaments keep people in the server is because there's that many of them and no normal games to join most of the time so there's nothing else to stick around for. I know It's never going to happen but I think it would be best reducing tournaments to 1 every hour then there would be more entries and they might actually be worth entering, more people would create normal games then and when new members sign up and find a lot easier to get a game some might stick around.
Waits for the lecture about non paying members......
Prime example random speed now, half the tournament will be out by quarter past leaving them 55 minutes till the next starts and whole thing will be done by half past...got to try and keep people in the server playing games and tournaments do that.
My way would work- (example)
15.00 9 ball tournament
15.30 random speed
18.00 straight
all the losers from the first couple of rounds of 9 ball could join the random speed and everyone is done in time for the straight still.
Could do away with micros totally if we did this

If you want to play for rank then you're better off winning tournaments, if you want to get runouts then you play ranked...it's all a bit messed up

Rank doesn't bother me I just enjoy playing class players, tournaments just aren't worth winning thats why I don't play them.
