Serves no purpose over giving a player permission or actually making the sub. Adding every single sub to a game gives it the best chance to be played, but if both sides did that the whole fixture would just be a mess.

I have no feeling that it is particularly tactical, it's just laziness though because you force your opponent to make more effort. It's also a very negative tactic in terms of a default because you make the organisational side of a fixture much more complex.

In terms of defaults it would be like any other sub, should Gaz not be able to play at any point, he would let ash know who would then change it to me vs Horse. I myself have no doubt that Horse and Gaz will get the game done, but in some cases (I am not saying this in particular as I don't know the ins and outs) communication between 2 players can be tough, or even being online at the same time due to work/family/other commitments.

It also puts no more pressure on either player to get it played, takes a load of hippes back as he knows if he can't get it done someone will, and should Gaz not be able to play it the minute I find out Keith would get a message from myself.

At the point it changed it would become a sub, until then it is a negative move in a default.

All that still applies if you have permission to sub in.
