As it states in the rules, (at least I am pretty sure it does) if it is impossible for the one team to win, then the game is won by the other team (but in better words)

With your football score analysis, it is completely irrelevant, due to there being no maximum score in a football game, ask he craig, he supposedly knows a thing or two about footy

It was more like a boxing bout than a football match. The ref, chris, stopped it as one boxer got the crap beaten out of them. Should have stopped it after the first game to be honest. Ah well too late, head injuries it is.

In professional football it would carry on, but not always in amateur/child's football. Like the mercy rule in some American sports

Though if you're adamant about a professional football analogy, a game doesn't carry on when a golden goal is scored. When the outcome is decided, it isn't uncommon to finish early.

Even if you ignore that, the deadline had passed and you couldn't play your match within that time so it would be a default anyway. Chris wouldn't bother with defaults if they served no point with an outcome already decided.

I like this analogy of the situation, quite an accurate description!
