He deserved to win to be honest.

Just finished playing mattywellie at the FCL match against pros.

It started well with me getting a lucky chance, which I took, then Matt pulled back to level in the 2nd. The next 2 frames were a bit scrappy, but I cleared if Matt missed (I felt in good nick here!) Then Matt pulled the last one of the 5 to keep the scores close.
3-2 to me.

Then it is the usual story in 9us for me, in the first rack, almost had him on 3 fouls, only for me to leave a simple escape from the 3rd, then leave him a nice a clear.
Then I think he ran the rack in the 2nd, then after I missed a long shot, he stepped in to finish off the frame. At this point I though 5-0 was on the cards, but a rare miss from Matt on the 6 (he was going for 6-9 combo) left me with a chance which I took. Then normal service resumed in the last which he won.
4-1 to Matt

Knowing I had to win 3-2/4-1 to keep things close, I did the one thing you don't do, pot all your balls and mess up near the end. Giving Matt a simple clear, I then got logged out, and Matt said we could start the 2nd frame again, which I took to keep us close, then 2 tight frames ensued with him winning the tactical battles after positional errors from me. Then he finished with a runout.
4-1 to Matt

10-5 to overall, not been my worst performance, but on a different day it might have been closer or more in favour of Matt.

Just been taught how to play funkypool by erigert, after playing matty, who is quite an attacking player, I went gungho against eri, closed in on a runout, but left the black impossible without hitting and hoping, so i covered one of his balls, and he left me hampered every time until his balls were potted and won (Brilliant tactics)
More lessons ensued, with me eventually picking out scrappy frame, but he won comfortably 3-1.

9us, eurgh, was unlucky with some in/offs, but eri deserved this set also, and he had a *great runout too 4-1 to eri.

8uk, knowing i had to win 4-0, eri broke and cleared, to give me no chance of a win, but i tried my best to keep it as close as i could. ended 3-2 here, with some great from us both.

I'd say the result was fair, maybe another frame in my direction, but the better player won

Well played eri, gl to you this season, least it wasnt as bad as last season!

Also forgot to mentions Eri's cracking 3/9 combo, 3 near the middle of the table, white not quite level with it, 9 ball about an inch NW of the 3, he works out the angles and pots 3 into middle bin and 9 into top left bin. Beauty
