Very tough. Unbelievably unlucky drawing Pro's AND Phoenix in the same set for FCL AND SL. Both of their teams get to pick their strongest 8 against us I think. Will be quite an achievement if we manage to win even 3 out of the 4 in my humble opinion. Still - we've done it before!

Well the good news is Pro's have the hardest set possible in FCL (us and UB), whilst UB also have Baize Burners who both us and pros played. It's a fantastic looking prospect, the three title challengers are leading the way. Black scorpions are leading the chase, ahead of Phoenix but I suspect the draw between them has hampered the chance of a 4th team getting themselves in the race.

We snuck into top spot with a 91-29 win, but UB scored an impressive 92-28 (over the team we got 83 points over), whilst the Pro's didn't quite managed a big scoring start but had two comfortable enough wins (and the hardest opening set). UB have the best chance to end set 2 in front, but 2 wins for Pro's could mean they've done the hard work (though 2 losses and they would find themselves way off the pace). The Pro's will be coming back after this set so a win is crucial, just as much as stumbling against Phoenix could negate a win versus the Pros.

Safe to say, this is probably the most important FCL set of the season.

Stop taking frames away from us STu :)

8us: 4-0 - I started off well but made a silly mistake to leave the frame at his mercy, but he left his ball a lot lower than he'd have wanted and the doubt caused him to miss. From then on his head didn't seem in it because his positioning wasn't up to scratch. He did foul on the black, but I had placed the black over the pocket to cover one of his balls and he never managed to free it before it became his last ball and he tried to pot it (and missed), so even if the white hadn't cannoned into the black after I would've tapped it in.

9us: 3-1 - It carried on with him not getting position if I gave him a chance and me taking any second chances, throwing in some nice finishing in to boot. In the final frame I was snookered on my first shot and played a crap shot to give him the chance of a 4-9 combo after potting the balls before and his positioning was spot on to execute it.

8uk: 2-2 - As soon as he got the first he stepped things up and I lost my edge. We both missed a frame we shouldn't have, but it balanced out and he ended up with a 7 balling.

9us - (1) vs (3) Never really got going apart from setting up really good snookers in 9 ball to getting him to concede the frame via three consecutive fouls!

Think all that win percentage has jinxed me.. Had a bad session but was very lucky to come away with a win!!

8us - (2) vs (2) Really unhappy with myself here.. missed some easy pots! Played really badly and he took his chances to claw back from 2 - 0 down!
9us - (4) vs (0) He got unlucky, didn't play well here either! Was so lucky to get away with that scoreline!
8uk - (2) vs (3) Luck basically screwed me over twice, going in-off after trying to get position on my final ball, leaving the table wide open with carry for him to finish! Regained some dignity with a nice run-out in the last frame.. had to double kiss my last ball in when the potting angle was covered by his ball which left me nicely on the black to wrap it up!

The frames were incredibly poor and scrappy. He was clearly rusty and struggled in places. Probably should have won a few more but can't argue with a 10 - 5 against somebody of his calibre
