Alan Pardew has been given permission to speak to Crystal Palace by Newcastle United, while assistant boss John Carver has been installed as caretaker manager.

Pardew is likely to be announced as Palace boss in due course.

Pardew did not attend his post-match Press conference after the 3-2 win over Everton which led to rampant speculation about his future at Newcastle amid rumours that an approach had been made about the vacant post at Selhurst Park

LOL
Irvine Sacked - let's guess who will be their next manager - I'll go with Tim Sherwood by the Weekend.

Tony Pulis will be Newcastle's next manager.

I'd give Tim Sherwood it as his backroom staff has Les Ferdinand on - Tony Pulis to WBA and Bruce to stay at Hull and get fired when relegated end of Season

That Scott Arfield hasn't scored for a while so fancy him to score the winner and with the upheaval going on at NUFC can see a result against.

Sunderland could well beat City, they have a tendency to do so and no one would love it more to score past them than Adam Johnson.

1-2 or 1-3 United.
They have been by far the better team. Good goal by Stoke but that's all they've done.
I expect Herrera and Januzaj to be subbed in the 2nd half.

Falcao looks lively too
C'mon United

They haven't been the better team by far at all. Stoke scored then said to United to come and break them down, to hit them on the counter. Stoke could've been 2-0 up and it wouldn't have been undeserved. One shot on target a piece in the first half. You can't be much better if you can't get a shot on goal.

Possession isn't everything and when you waste it, you might as well not have it.

And that shouldn't have been a pen for us, defender slid in to make a block and the ball hits him square in the face. Unfortunate for him that he threw himself into the block so much that he left his arms wildly up and made it look like a handball to the ref and to most people in the ground.

That's one that you need a replay to catch, very unfortunate for Leicester who look very up for this match. A quality finish as ever for Gerrard though.

2-2 seems to be the score of the day, some cracking matches and results accompanied with them. Unlucky to Sunderland who put up a great fight, Great 3-3 draw by Burnley.

Arsenal not winning now there's a surprise, always seem to lose matches they really should be winning season in season out.

On the whole a great day for football.
