Phenominal recovery against a brilliant team. I thought it would take our very best to go into the last game with a chance, 9 points ahead is just class. Even against your average player these are great scores, but they are against people who've been at the top and are still highly rated.

Started off both of us clearing for fun. 2-1 to me he lagged on the 9 to let me go 3-1 up. I returned the favour by screwing up a runout by failing to pot a tight middle angle because I was setting myself up for a 3-9 that appeared from my break and he made it a 2-9. Regained my 2 point cushion after an unlucky self snooker from him, then potted on my break and set up a combo but no pot for the balls before. I recklessly went for it anyway and got a massive fluke to set me up for the tap in runout to go 5-2 up. After this he just turned the heat up and never really gave me a chance in any of the frames after, culminating in a nice runout to put him 6-5 ahead. The final frame just went topsy turvy and the table practically refused to open up for either player before he just about missed a 6-9 when it was the only option to take and it left me with the open table needed to clear.

Great game, both desperate to avoid a loss. Great play, big mistakes, a runout a piece and the perfect start to what should be a great final. good games mate, good luck for the rest of your season

I do have to admit, at 5-3 with you set to make it 5-4 I started hoping for a draw the way you played which is mental, but I was a passenger till the last frame after I ran the rack.

2-3 very scrappy, was closer to 1-4 than 3-2 to me and he kindly replayed a frame that I disconnected from that was at a bit of a deadlock with him having an advantage in it.

4-1 A mix of me stepping up and things just not going his way. He pulled off a lethal finish in the last to show he was still dangerous.

3-2 first two he was very unlucky and I came completely off the pace, he cleared very well to go 2-1 then I was unfortunate/awful in the 4th to go 2-2. Then I finished up with a good little runout in 8uk (we'd both been threatening them, but neither of us had really managed it)

A very scrappy affair, I caught him on a bad day fortunately. Though I wasn't great either at times, probably bouncing the bad play off each other. Good games mate, keep 'er lit as always!
