Why do the league rules keep changing? Seems a bit ridiculous to me when there's nothing wrong with the current ones.

I can't be bothered reading through the discussion thread, so someone will need to update me with the rules when the season starts!!

I'll summarise it for you

FBL 6 frames of the regular three types (down from 8), 2 frames of straight (down from 4). As long as you play that you can't go wrong. If you win the match overall you get 2 points, draw is 1, loss is 0. The same rules then apply to the fixture, a win is 2, draw is 1, loss is 0.

SL is unchanged for the regular matches. For killer there are now 2 games (up from 1) each worth 6 points (4 points for 1st, 2 points for 2nd). If clans agree then they can have include up to 7 of their players (e.g. 7 vs 7). If they don't agree they are limited to 3 as a maximum (1vs1, 1vs2, 1vs3, 2vs2, 2vs3 or 3vs3). A player can play in both games and they can take place back to back or at different times with different players.

FCL is completely match and fixture wise (5 frames of the main 3 types). Each clan will play each other once, and at that point be split into a division 1 and a division 2. Each division 1 clan plays all the other division 1 clans for a second time and each division 2 team plays all other division 2 teams for a second time as well. This stops a season being decided by a single fixture whilst making the final positions more about being able to beat teams of a similar level not how badly you beat the lowest teams.

The Players Championship has increased from 9 frames to 12. So there is now 4 frames of each type (for equal breaks).

In addition is the revival of clan cup competition. Instead of each league running its own individual competition (and adding to a big workload), there is now one multi-format competition called The Clan Grand Slam Cup.

This consists of 8 vs 8 fixtures, broken down into:
2 FCL style matches (15 frames)
2 SL style matches (12 frames with bonuses)
4 FBL style matches (1 of each type, 6 or 2 frames depending on the type)

Each match is worth 2 for a win and 1 for a draw (0 for a loss). The winning clan is the one that gets 9 points or more and advances to the next round.

I'll get a game sorted tomorrow as I don't know if i'll be able to get a game sorted before start of season. If I don't get one done tomorrow i'll put a new boy in - that clan picture suits you awfully nice Pete

Cheers zante. I'd much prefer the old rules but as long as fcl doesn't change to the same rules then I'll keep playing, would be quite annoying to lose 8-7 to a top player and get nothing!!

I know!! Luckily, I've been reading the threads and I know the boundaries now. I've seen one clan captain call the league runner a "numpty" with no posting ban, so I know "numpty" is ok. And I've seen another clan captain say "Up yours!", again - with no repercussions. Obviously the words "halfwit" and "simpleton" are FAR more offensive than "numpty"! Maybe I should go crying to admin next time?
