No matter what I do I can't play pool, it won't let me log into game, just get that message and one saying that maybe firewall is stopping connection or a network fault etc..

I've cleared hash etc, uninstalled and reinstalled latest java, restarted browsers and pc

I've verified that latest java is installed, when I try to open in firefox, nothing even happens when I click play, but it goes to timeout screen in ie..

Funny thing is I can play snooker fine, so that's weird....

The laptops insured and about to have a terrible accident soon anyway, but I wouldn't mind sorting this first

Any advice appreciated..

All I've done is sign some players, whoopy doo - 3 from same team, I didn't make them join, they are entitled to make decisions themselves. TG's should be flattered another team sees potential in some of their players. BUT oh no we would rather wallow in self pity and play the 'blame game'. blueberry - have you checked the setting (restrictions) in your anti-virus? This could be why you get the firewall message here, if there is a restiction on funkypool, but not on funkysnooker.
Have you tried using a different browser? (to what effect?).

baff I've even tried running it with my anti virus (AVG) and firewall (Zonealarm) turned off, that hurt....still no joy

I've tried Internet Explorer and Java window tries to load as with Safari and Chrome', but it tells me Java isn't installed, even though it is... I've uinstalled and reinstalled countless times.

With firefox when I click 'Play' NOTHING happens, no attempt to open.

I had a similar problem years ago and could only play through a proxy, (snooker was fine then too) no idea what the rules said about this at the time, but if I'd been ip banned surely you'd know..I've never had the privilage of being banned so I'm unaware of the process

In all seriously it is doing my head in, but its gotta be something simple ..

I've determined my problems ip related, maybe spinner can help when hes got time

3 weeks on and bar reformatting I've tried multiple times every suggestion and many of my own ideas...

Is there any other decent pool sites I can try to see if they work without proxy, as a temp measure of course ?

Good luck, if u find a site EVEN CLOSE...let me know...i have done my research in past...no success. Most if not all have a line on em, and the way you aim isnt as smooth a funky, they jump to far when trying to get that angle shot, cursors are tiny, and tables small...they all a joke..compared to funkypool.

I was going to suggest yahoo pool, as its closest i can think of...i think pogo high stakes pool is another..without looking, those only 2 i used b4 funkypool

I've found when you have multiple browsers that Java doesn't always successfully set it's hooks properly into all browsers with one install. Going through the install again via one of the other browsers seems to take care of that. Not explanation - but it works,
