I understand perfectly. My point being you play who you play in a tournament. Dunno why people get on a downer about newbies. When you play them it is risk free so surely more should be welcomed into tournys. If you don't want to play them, don't enrer, then watch all the extra posts about so few in tournaments. Let them in and have to beat them as you would an open tournament in the world. Either that or lose gracefully if one if them was good enough to win.
and if people do it to inflate their ranking then watch it tumble after being a newbie. It all evens out.

People complain about hardly anyone entering tournaments as it is so I think stopping newbies from entering is possibly the worst idea anyone could come up with. I remember when newbies couldn't enter a bit ago and everyone was complaining about it cause the tournament entries were worse than what they are now.

Because it makes rank actually mean something. Back in the old days when people chose who they played ranked games against rank meant nothing, it was just a number. Sure, some people played everyone fair and square, but others selected opponents to ensure they maintained their rank.
Allowing newbies into tournaments was one of them many, many ideas suggested here.
As always, the newbie adjustment has been forgotten about. You DON'T lose big points against a newbie until they have almost played out their 50 games, by which point any reset/new account will be at thier "normal" level anyway.
Remember - there is nothing wrong with resetting or creating a new account, it is completely a matter of individual choice.
Proof is in the pudding though Chris. Couple of years ago we had players ranked over 900, and some players ranked 850 weren't even in the top 10. Why play a tourney where knocking out 5 or 6 opponents gains you around 15 points, then you lose 2-0 to a 690 rank and drop 16 points. Where's the logic in that?

i wonder if anyone reads all these........
i mean good ideas but seen lots of them not being implemented here

I didnt forget about the adjustment, what i meant by risk free. Can i get a bonus point?
Agree with spinner on this one, although thats rare in itself. We all want bigger numbers both on the site and in tournys. I WANT to play 5, 6, 7 rounds to win one. Get rid of micro's might help but absolutely keep newbies in.
