I've been playing this game for an awful while now, and now my brother has rejoined after a while out, i've already told him no funny business because if he gets banned i'll get banned for both using the same i.p address.

Is that how it still works? or is there a different rule in place nowadays?

I only ask because its happened before, only i was the mischevious one years ago and because i'd been banned, he also was banned.

Would much prefer a moderator or admin to answer this because they'll know more about these kind of situations

Hey mate, i'm no moderator or admin, but they dont have any problem with it so long as you message them via contact us with the username of your brother

Source: cgreggers is my housemate, therefore has the same IP as me, i messaged them with the name and they're fine with it

As former Moderator I believe the IP banning would still be in affect as the repeat offenders would just come back with a second account and start over again. During my time during New Years Eve and when guests could talk in the chat room it got that bad with those coming back again swearing and abuse to others I banned many IP that night as the boot only worked for a very short time (for guests close window and open and they back on) but as with you that did get lifted.

Sam is right, you need to contact admin about it so they know. I also had to do this when myself and Jema were sharing a computer before she got her laptop fixed again.

Getting banned is something you risk when you both play on the same IP, as admin can not ban the one player and not the other as it is the IP that needs banned. Main reason i stayed out of trouble is for that reason so Jema would not be banned.

I think its the same for guests also so as soon as they are banned they can't even get on as a guest as you can't when your normal account has been banned.

Yeah from my time as moderator so long as people notified mods or admin then it wasnt an issue, but if you play a lot of games with each other with suspicious results then that where it starts to get tricky and people get banned.

Yeah i wont play him much matty, its kind of weird but i was the sore loser on here years ago, and i got banned but my brother was banned also because of my attitude, now i've got older i've matured now he's got older hes turned into the sore loser!

Just can't be doing with him going off on one and me being punished for his attitude.

Thats a good point also, its what im worried about! I know if he loses his rag and says something an it gets reported, he'll be banned and i will be as well.

If he lost his rag and mouthed off and got reported and it was not super bad mouthing off then he may get a friendly warning and so on, not sure how it works as it depends on what admin person deals with it, but sometimes its two warnings and then a ban.

Dont rely on those warnings though, i have only ever recieved one warning but been banned about 15 times

simple solution for ya, dont get banned then everything will be sweet, how do people get banned anyway, its just a game folks not to be taken too seriously

Yeah but after a warning, then a ban you are watched and very rarely get any warnings after that, most of the time straight bans.

Dave - It takes a simple loss in a game that causes frustration and lash out which can see you banned if what you say is bad enough... Done it myself many times and thankfully learned from it. Now i don't swear at all on server, just hold it in and swear in real life

That would not work mate as the IP is logged to the laptop. Dongle only allows you to gain internet access?

You could use an IP changer but i wouldn't recommend it as they are usually use for downloading rubbish. be a waste of time for you really especially if it gave you a random IP from like Iceland or something

Getting a dongle will change your IP as only your Local IP is designated to each machine.
A local IP is normally 192.168.0.x (x representing any number between 1-99)
An IP that everyone else seen can be anything really, within reason obviously.

If you use an IP changer that will just slow down your internet speed considerably as you will be going through a cheap proxy server. If you message fastboysam like he said he will sort it out for you. You don't need to have a different IP.

So I'm okay using 2 laptops from the same router? One for me and one if my lady decides to have a knock about against me?

The mac address should be different?

I would like to add that if 2 members share an ip or are members of the same household and you play each other its best to avoid rank games, stick to friendlies.
