we don't pay for internet just phone line. xbox is fine although internet went down for total of 15 days last month which includes the phone line. mum thinks the meteor in Russia (although it happened before then) is to blame and dad thinks its the power surge/cut we had night before. when i checked Diagnose and Repair it says no problem with connection. on path it says network is connected to computer but no internet (like when xbox disconnects).

You do pay for internet, it just comes through and out the bank as to do with the phone that is all. If you didn't pay for internet then you would not be able to get online with anything. What you should do is stop paying for Xbox Live and use the money that is used for that to get a new computer/second hand or something.

Well get in touch with your service provider, it is their job to make sure you are getting it and they should come out and sort it free of charge.

Unless you are of course nicking someone elses internet, then go next door and tell them to get it sorted, the cheap sods.
