It's the same lettering used in game Centre Forward and Striker (CF and SS) just become Forward (Centre) and Defence Centre and Sweeper (DC and SW) just become Defence (Centre).

The layout on that image is the same as what it is on SM (though goalkeeper is at the top, and forwards are at the bottom)

So Ballotelli is F (RLC) on soccer manager. He can play RW LW or CF on that image.

Robinho is AM F (RLC). He can play any of the blue positions (except DM) and any red position.

yellow is defence
blue is midfield
red is attack

And the Quarterback...lol...i'm joking.
