Surely shouldn't there be a rule if you deactivate then if you re-activate you face the same sanctions as anyone when playing for a clan? 2 months proving your reliability and loyalty to your fellow clan members.

What does everyone think?

There's to much of this nowadays which in my eyes in spoiling this game.

If you deactivate you should face consequences as anyone else?

Also to eliminate 'fake newbies', if you reset your stats then your time and tenure on this site begins from then, why should it be allowed for everyone even those in a clan to just 'reset their stats' when it suits, should be the same sanctions and treated as a new member to this site.

This looks solely based on clans and this would be the wrong thread for it. There is no rule in place for resetting stats on the site or in clans though and that is the way it should be. There is no limit to how many new accounts you can make either, there is a limit of how many you can have at anyone time though.

I don't see what this thread is going to accomplish in the long run.

This season the FBL and FCL has introduced no transfers during the season and implementing the mid season transfer window. If someone does deactivate and reactivate then they cannot join the same clan they left and they have to wait until the transfer window or until the end of the season to join another.

This is about as close to a punishment as it gets i'm afraid.

I deactivated for a few hours yet am still playing for my clan as have a fair few others and are still playing so that didn't really work???

You were not removed from the team though. You had no unplayed games either.

I did I had chocco game unplayed so If you want remove that score I'd be happy with that

Plus that was the FCL, the rule Jema mentioned has only just came into the FCL mate the same night new games came out

Like I said to punkpoet, what I should have further explained is you cannot return should the deactivation and the end of the fixture overlap.

Scenarios;

If you deactivated leaving a game unplayed you cannot return to that clan as you have caused them a default.

You cannot return to a clan if you have caused a partially played game in which someone else from your clan has had to sub in to complete.

If you also deactivate and make a new name you are not allowed to rejoin that clan until the next season.

I'd prefer if that score remained as it is

May i ask why are fake newbies annoying? it's not as if they take extra points, as rank is accomodated for them being newbies.

As for the deactivate thing who cares? it's none of anyone's business who does what and people can do what they want with their own account. More important things out there.

kirk is right here you benefit more playing newbies as you lose less rank points. For example if you would have lost 100 rank to normal member, newbie depends on how many games they complete. Lets say they played 0 for example lets say this is a 90% reduction, you only lose 10 rank points instead of 100.

For deactivating/resetting people have different reasons (e.g. privacy, fresh start, challenge, bullied on forum etc).

I don't see why clans or people in clans get dragged into everything...

There are 10's of thousands active accounts (have logged in within the last 12/13 months) on this site and a less than 200 of them play in clan leagues.

Say there are 20,000 members and 200 play in clan leagues that is 1% of the overall members yet every thread aimed at cheats, deactivating, resetting, fake newbies, bad sportsmanship etc etc all aimed towards clan members and leagues.

You also gain fewer points of course. It's not a benefit, it just makes the game much less meaningful if you care about rank (it's just worth nothing really).

Fair enough, the points gained or lost is nothing to do with me starting this, was merely a general conversation to see what ppl thought and their opinions, thanx for ur input.

I agree with what Seb has said about may as well play friendlies, i dont really see the logic in reseting ur stats but some reasons stated above are reasonable, this also was not originally nor meant to be affiliated within a clan so that has been misinterpreted.

Your opening statement was clan related and you mentioned clans twice more in the opening post...

What is the point in the reset option????......Why was it implemented in the first place?

So if people like their account but hate their stats they can reset. Saves a lo of deactivations.
