I don't think it does- definitely not if you leave the tab open on the side.

If I leave the tab open and browse then it logs me off after 20 mins if I'm not active on the site...

Unless he has the check box ticked for remember ID, then he should be able to leave the page open and it should keep him logged in. Just hope he comes back to the computer before midnight
