and i joined the straight pool tourny, and it was supposed to start at 3:00
Instead it started at 2:59..i was in match..opponent left to play tourny, but still..it would have affected me in game.

This could just be a difference of a minute between your time and the server time. The 3:00 tourney (which starts taking entries at 3:00 and has the first round draw at 3:10, unless it got changed lately lol, been a while since I was in a tourney) seems to have been on time, so that's the only thing I can out it down to.
Give me a shout later on if I'm online and you're entering a tournament.
EDIT: Yep, just had at look at the tournament that just started (or will start), and it was a minute or two before 2 pm (GMT).

not much difference tbh its your own fault if your in a game knowing tournament is about to start. If you feel like you can't get a game in then go to Chat Room and wait. I normally play friendlies so an abandon stat is not that bad either.
Only people effected is those who join late (especially those who are browsing) when 2 minute notification comes up. If your in game server 10 minutes before start then no real excuse can be made unless the site goes down or rebooted.
In future just wait in chat room when you enter a tournament no fuss then.

For what it's worth, the server time at the moment, based on observations (tourneys becoming available etc) is about 1 min 20 seconds faster than my laptop, meaning that the 7:00 tournament will start taking entries at 6:58:40 and the first round will begin at 7:08:40. Of course, it still gives everyone who is online 10 minutes to join. The only way it could cause problems is if you decided to log in just before 7:10 and you missed it that way. I'm sure Nick will get it sorted though
