Anyone been or live in Southhampton?

Start work there Monday and need to know 2 things...
1. is it a dump?
2. is the night life good ;) ?

Not been there, but heard good things about it

What work are you starting?

Southampton's not a bad place. Like anywhere though, has it's rough spots Never been on a night out there though.

Been to Southampton quite a few times for work and also for music gigs as its only about 40 minutes away.

Always found Ocean Village a nice place to go and eat and drink.

Not really heard of any problem areas or trouble, though I am sure there are if you look, like anywhere.
