Elite UK Doubles Tournament


16 Players will play in 8 teams of 2 and will feature the top players of the game today so if you want to be in the event then up your ranking to the top 16 by the 6th of December!

If someone out of the top 16 refuses then it goes to 17th, someone else then 18th until all 16 are filled.

Players will be paired completely random so you don't get a dvz/beenjammin combination before it starts.

Game Format
To promote attacking play format you get a bonus point per run out or golden break.

Quarter Finals - 6 frames
Semi Finals - 8 frames
Finals - 10 frames

Tournament Tie Breakers
If their is a tie breaker, each team will nominate one player who will play to decide who goes through (only frame counts)

Quarter Finals - best of 7 frames
Semi Finals - best of 9 frames
Finals - best of 11 frames

How Doubles Work?
You and your teammate play both members of the opposing team and total the scores together whoever gets the highest score wins.

lol yeah, thinking of another format on original snooker but made it like the TV, where anyone can enter (tournament would be seeded so ranks would count but i wouldn't limit to top 16). I would use challonge for the draw.

then you truly get a best of the best if the 16 join anyway. problem is how would you change it to suit doubles?

well you could add 2 ranks together and divide by 2 to get overall UK rank. For example lets say you had onua on 900 and was paired with mich on 800. 900+800=1700/2=850 so that would be their rank.
