Whilst playing a game on straight earlier my opponent ran out of time (40 secs) so the computer take his shot and pots a ball and my opponent goes on to win.

This needs changed! why not just put the ball in the opponents hand and let him continue after all the player should not be allowed to continue as he has ran out of time.

Those have happend in the past to many users, and i must admit, it is random but it happens too much i think.

I agree, this would not happen in a real game (yes i know before you all slate me, this is an online game) but i think the ball in hand would be a great feature, especially when a random shot pots the correct ball the player who did not respond then get another go! leaving the player who quite rightly is or will be upset, only just to watch! its happened to most of us i think? but i once played straight too, and my opponent had three random pots in a row! ridiculous!

3 random pots in a row ! it would make him leave the room before 3rd shot is taken

im sure by 3rd shot he would have left with out taking his 3rd shot so there for not being able to pot 3 random shots in a row

If that was the case, It would be happening to people every single day, but considering it's very rare this happens in the thousands of games played everyday, I find that very hard to believe!!!

Well if you're going to talk rubbish then you shouldn't of been expecting anythin less, yeah I read the other posts and still stand by what I said. It's very rare this happens to people at all so the chances of it happening to someone twice in a row is very unlikely, you made it obvious by saying it happened 3 times first!!

it has happened vs me frequently in carom vs dom, where he would be on facebook gets 2 randoms score both times which is bizarre for carom then ends up winning sometimes.

no matter what spinner will say i will feel that random penalty should be removed and replaced with ball in hand with a pass shot option (US games), behind line with pass shot option (Straight) or 2 shot carryon (UK, no pass shot though as you get 2 visits to the table).

I agree it keeps game moving but only time you would need random shots is in tournaments or something to avoid wasting time.

it doesn't happen in the real game if Ronnie O'Sullivan doesn't take his shot in time in premier league he doesn't ask a random fan to smack the ball for him, it would just be a foul and thats what should happen here.

I don't disagree that it shouldn't be removed but for how much it happens it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I can't see it ever been removed tho anyway cause very few people complain about it out of the thousands of members that are on here, that's how much of a problem it is!!

Disagree with that. I'm guessing 90% of these users aren't active on the forums, so wouldn't complain anyway.

This topic has been brought up in loads of threads. I can't think of any other issue that is complained about as much as this (except maybe the server), so I think compared to everything else, it is a big issue.

Yeah I mean out of all the users on the site, about 5% maybe not even that

It seems to be just the people that are never off the game that have a problem with it, and probably cause they play hundreds of games a week obviously it will happen to them more than anyone else, but I've played quite a lot of games on here and snooker myself and its only ever happened once or twice to me

It doesn't happen very often, I don't think anyone disputes that.
However, why does it have to happen at all? There are already game types in place where there is no random shot penalty, so why can't it just be implemented in the rest of game types?

Clearly can't be much of an issue with programming, since it's already been done. The only thing blocking it seems to be one or two admins who enjoy the random shot.
