Any chance this can be looked into?

I was on a run of 78 in the final against i_am_dubstep and then this message appeared: TOURNAMENT: slow punishment - banana and i_am_ dubstep forfeit the tournament. Right, I know it gives you a few warnings but I was concentrating so much on getting a 100+ that I didn't notice them

It didn't even register the 78 I was on, or the fact I was 90 points clear in the final. How about implementing a countdown clock that appears in the corner of the screen when there's 5 minutes remaining or even better extend the time limit by a few minutes.

Anyone have any ideas?

Very good idea mate. For anybody doing exactly what you did, there should be a warning of some sort.

I think the final should be unlimited time. And the rub should still register that's a bit bad really kind of like a break registers in power even if you don't finish it before zero seconds.

One of the biggest of the, fortunately, few flaws of this site.

It has been raised before. At the very least, what needs to happen if possible is to ensure first and foremost that the win counts from the moment a player reaches 35 - whether they continue and are still in play at the expiry of the time limit or not.

At the moment you are expected to miss a shot to guarantee winning rather than get DQ'd, which goes against all logic. If the current way is the only way the game play can work then it definitely needs a clear and obvious warning on screen telling you to miss rather than the general warning now just that the clock is running out.

Apart from that I think you have to keep all time limits for finals for consistency. Unfortunately it does mean that players might be less likely to hit really big runs in tournament games compared to other games but that is outweighed by keeping the integrity of the tournament structure intact generally.

What about although being a time limit if a player reaches 35 the the time limit then goes as you should be able to continue your run like normal, just like you can when a player leaves?

Yep - that would work too as long as the win registers at 35. Seems so obvious that there must probably be a programming difficulty why it isnt done like that?

Always been a fan of the "Dont fix something that isn't broken" However seems like right now it's more like "dont fix anything, broken or not"

This is something that blatantly makes sense. Time limits are there so players dont have to sit around waiting for slower players. Obviously in a final it isn't relevant... Just get it sorted pleaseeeeeeeeee.

What you have mentioned is all well and good for the final, however, during the earlier rounds there has to be some kind of time limit to avoid people waiting too long for the next round. Could you imagine waiting an extra 20-30 minutes whilst someone is knocking in a 150

"After the 35 has been reached in the final, there is no time limit" - No brainer, agreed

What about the other rounds? Increase the time limit slightly by a minute or two and have some kind of countdown clock appear. Once 35 has been reached in any round, even if you are timed out you should still progress with any run that you were on registered.

I have to agree with Sam's post about the broken thing. Chances of admin even looking into this is very slim in my opinion. There has been countless ideas posted about the offline message delete button and things but not once has Nick posted on any of them to even say we are considering it.

I think all tournament finals should have no time limit on them. 9 Ball Marathon you get 30 odd minutes to complete the semis i think it is? But a Straight Pool final you get even less. Straight is a much longer game regardless if people can get massive runs or not. Time limit should be unlimited or knock it up another 5 - 10 minutes.

Just out of interest how many of these threads have materialised into something? Something which has been implemented?

Rubbish! When you get to 35 youve won! simple, Who cares if you go on and pot a further 70 balls? Well done! Complete waste of time and money to satisfy peoples minds about how good they think they are, or how good they really are?! Get a grip! fgs! How about Nick introduces a supreme membership say for £50 a year? so you lot can get these results that matter 0%?............ I thought not!

i agree that in a Final the time limit should be removed as you need a winner of a tournament, in some finals users if they are about to lose (or in snookers required stage on snooker) they let time run down hoping for a double DQ.

theres no rounds after the final so nothing to wait for and not much to lose.

Only to make you look good? I for example could play you, beat you then go on to pot a further 60+ balls. Wow! How good am I? I still beat you? But I guess it looks good on your home page. Lol pathetic!

because if its a Double DQ no one loses rank so if they are in an unwinnable position sometimes they may try for the double DQ to save rank instead of being sporting and concede.

since ranked tournaments came out i feel some may may take rank seriously to try this and in a friendly it wouldn't matter as its not ranked.

so a no time limit final disables the above method, and with no rounds after it shouldn't matter if round takes 2 minutes or an hour.

before the final time limits are needed to speed up the tournament but in finals it should be as fast/slow paced as you want
