Hi everyone,
Ive been on here for a few months now, and just wondered what the benifit of resetting was? Yes if you were a crap player to start then got good quickly? I could see the reason to reset stats? But why? Surley it would be bettter for people to look at your history? other than delete it? You cant delete the fact we had 2 world wars! or other wars? Would be great to reset stats there?
Come on people? Stop resetting! and be a true player!
Regards
Your Conscience.

when i did it for 1st time on my main account on snooker i felt gutted in one respect as i had set of maxes but in another respect i felt relaxed as i didn't have to take game serious anymore, i've never reset my pool stats but if i achieved everything i could manage like on snooker who knows.

also resetting is like a new account but it stays on your profile so resetting stops most people deactivating and starting over so would you rather them deactivate 100 times and take 100 names people could use or would you rather them keep 1 name and use it to reset?

Not sure why other people reset but i was thinking about it the other day purely because i was getting annoyed about losing 6 points a frame in tournys, so if i lose 2-0 say in 9 us which is pretty easily done with a bit of luck or just plain skill then i lose 12 points and i tend to avoid mara tournys for the same reason unless im in the zone and up for it.

But saying that i would wipe away all my achievements on here so i decided against it but ultimately it's the players choice if they reset bit annoying when your in a tourny and get like .1 for a win but hey that's the way it goes

Like a new account? not sure what you mean there pal? The ONLY reason i can see for people to reset, is to make their profile look good!?
True or False! lol
Makes me laugh, the ammount of politics on here created by what i can only class as tyrants!! Fall into line or be disbanded like some sort of lepur!

Most people reset in search of getting the perfect stats, but the true reality is, by the time they play x amount of games, they will end up with similar stats anyways as they'll have good days and bad days. No one achieve's a perfect set of stats

I know some people do it for a challenge to see if they reach their previous max or beat it

like a new account. what happens when you make a new account? Member has played no games, what happens when you reset? Member has played no games, only difference is the Results + Events page but you get the idea.

people don't always reset for 'perfect stats', i know i didn't, theres 2 reasons why i reset on Snooker, 1) For fresh start 2) To try for a goal i cannot do without resetting which is get 50% turn success in Carom by 500 turns.

Only thing bad about resetting is the 'fake newbie' argument

what you mean by this? no ones forcing you to do anything, if you don't want to reset then thats your choice as at end of day its down to individual and no one should tell you otherwise, you asked if resetting was good or bad, i answered and i get this response.

all i will say is meh

Why start a discussion when you already have your opinion and are standing by it and you don't take onboard genuine comments

exactly and cree how do you know? just because you don't agree doesn't mean others will.

on snooker players such as eemad, sean_paul, fuzzy (carom), ill_be_there and few others have reset but does that mean eemad arguably the greatest player of all time is crap? i doubt it very much.

and haven't you read what i said? i didn't reset for stats if i thought of stats i wouldn't have reset as at the time i did everything i felt capable of doing and wanted a fresh start.

about best players i never have claimed to be the best and i perhaps never will be despite being on this site 5 1/2 years im still learning new things by practising on practice table.

that ok cree my darling

and yes that was sarcasm

It is true, they are going for high win percentages but your percentages improve slowly even if you start an account from scratch and at least that is a true stat then.
All the constant resetting and new accounts has ruined the ranking system and letting noobs into tourneys has just encouraged it.
There are so few pros in each category compared to a few years ago so winning tourneys constantly just creeps you up to the 840's mark whereas before you would be close to virt or better.

cree, I don't see why people would care about such trivial matters?

Some people reset just for a fresh start, so things don't get boring, and want a challenge, there is nothing wrong with resetting, and if you do, doesn't mean your a bad player, some of the best players have reset, and no offence, far more skilled players than you

i felt same way about my carom goal, i kept resetting but i noticed it maybe out of my reach so im trying to keep my stats this time round.
