This has happened a few times now but some players like to set up a game an put the time limit to 90 seconds an then as their taking there shot they'll take it in the last second of the time limit therefore games are due to go on for a long time an opponents tend to get bored an leave which of course helps rank up other players.
I suggest a smaller maximum time limit to 50 seconds because no player should need 90 seconds to take each shot its bizarre
And i also believe a 5 second time limit is a little far fetched and its so hard taking a perfect shot with such a quick time limit
What ever happened to 10 seconds being the minium?

I totally agree with this... a minute and a half is way to long and five seconds isn't a REAL game!

sorry but sometimes people use 90 seconds as they are at work and may get customers (mich for example) and 5 seconds are great i can actually shoot in 2 seconds and still be about 70% accurate, its not my fault that you don't like those limits and if you don't why accept the terms of the game room in the first place? or ideally you can set a room up yourself with your own conditions.
its just like the carom argument on snooker, why remove something because someone doesn't like it, always remember someone will always like those limits and if you don't then don't accept the terms.

The time limit is shown before you join a game, so just dont join 90 second games.
I once played a guy who was constantly apologising for taking so long because he had a disability which meant that he couldn't play as quickly as other people, so removing the 90 second limit might negatively affect some players.

90 seconds can be useful in different situations to those which you usually play, for example the ones above ^. Another one is that it removes all urgency from the game play (much like a real match)
Myself and Matt have played on a 90 second shot clock quite a bit, usually competing to get runouts. 90 seconds we can discuss whats the best options are to help each other out and improve our own game, sometimes the other person see's something the person taking the shot doesn't - 20 seconds would be nowhere near enough time to explain it.
We both know that we aren't wasting each others time, and so this way we pretty much remove all random time limit shots which can ruin a game

yep and i used to play mich on 90 seconds in carom as i know he had customers etc also couple times ive played destiny on 90 seconds as well and he would help me out explaining each shot in detail (usually around 20-30 seconds to explain mostly) which eventually improved my game to the level i am at now
and i play 5 seconds for some quick fire snooker which games which usually last 10 minutes are over in half that time.
one thing ive been waiting for is 5 second tournaments even if its one or 2 a day replacing the friendly ones.

Don't play them if you don't want to would take a few years for someone to get to pro that way, if they've got the patience let them crack on lol

I've played people trying to do that as well, just do it back. You could even play unneccessary safeties and they soon get bored themselves.

The time limits are varied to suit everyone's needs.
You basically have 2 warnings before entering that room:
1, Before you enter, click the game room once and the details of that room will appear on the right.
2, Once you have entered that room, you are warned that it's either a fast game or a slow game.
The whole reason a 90 second limit is selected is so that the 90 seconds can be used!
You could politely ask your opponent if you can play with a slightly faster game but if not, join another.

5 seconds is no problem
It's peoples choice if they want to use them. Doing no harm for anyone being there. If it bothers you, just simply avoid them games.

Each person gets warned in red text in the accept box that the game is extremely long, or extremely short, or that their opponent is ranked much higher than them. This gives you the choice to opt out before you commit to playing that game under those conditions. If a 90 second game is being played, each player has the right to take as much of the 90 seconds as they need, just the same way that each player has the right to take as much of the 20 seconds in a 20 second game as they need. If you take part in a 90 second game, just be prepared to be waiting between shots.
I remember when the limit was 2 minutes, or was it 3. And still we missed shots, because we were playing at work and never got round to taking a shot (or even looking at the table) within the time limit. We would have played with 5 minutes or 10 minutes if we could have.
