When I open the game I can chat fine. But when it comes to hitting a ball, its all jumpy?
When I'm over on windows this isn't a problem. All runs perfectly.
So my hunch is that its Linux causing the problems

It also took me ages to get Java installed on linux, running a few codes to make it work and stuff like that. I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same types of problems?

I'm running Linux Mint 11 (Katya)
Also have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with Dual boot, which works perfectly fine with the game.

Running Ubuntu and same problem, also game keeps disappearing to a black screen briefly before reappearing - like it's refreshing itself or something.

Is this a configuration issue or something more?
