Newbies allowed in all tournaments to increase tournament players and to encourage new users to play the tournaments and therefore play more often. Unfortunately, you might meet someone who has reset an account - but I was wrong to alter the tournament format around this case.

More tournapoints available for longer tournaments eg marathons. Bonus depends on average games per round across the tournament, and is rounded to 20 points.

Average Games - Bonus
1 - 0%
2 - 25%
3 - 50%
4 - 75%
5 (or more) - 100%

Some fixes, occasional tournament room not being removed at game end, link to report message page, links and formatting in tournament page. Also show TournaPoints available in the tournament page.

Nice changes.

Never thought about that - allowing newbies to enter the tournaments to increase numbers. (Rather than changing schedule, but may still be better to decrease a little, time will tell).

Nice patch as usual.

About the re-setting problem. Couldn't you restrict the amount of resets per month/year?
Or is there already a restriction in play?

Nick... Would it possible for you to change the tournament page to have the auto refresh work before the tournament starts? I'm always refreshing the page to see how many people have joined/left!

on the top right of the tournament page, there are time intervals underlined. Click your desired one and it will Auto refresh each interval of your choice.

^he means before the tournament starts (so when it is available to join, he has to click refresh to see the people who have joined/left since the page was last loaded)

I mentioned a few months ago about there being more TournaPoints up for grabs in Tournaments, as when they were first introduced you'd find over 1,000 TournaPoints up for grabs in most Tournaments being played... Although i do not understand the new changes completely if theres more TournaPoints up for grabs the better!

When the new tournament schedule was put in place. The hourly tournaments didn't move but the half hourlys changed daily.
You did say that the hourly tournaments would change on a monthly or 3 monthly basis to keep things fresh and allow everyone who plays at same time to have their favourite tournament on the hours they played eventually and not just to change when the clocks change. Is this going to happen?

Shocking patch im my opinion.

If your going to do this then the amount of ranking points a higher ranked player can lose should be decreased!!!

With the amount of fake newbies/resetters/double accounts going on this should be done.

I like that you gave longer tournaments a tournapoint bonus. While you're at it though, shouldn't straight tournaments get a bonus too? They're definately one of the longer tournaments.
Another thought, maybe even give 9ball a little less of a bonus, as it is shorter.

Excellent change grading the tournapoints Nick will make the marathons and main tournaments the big prizes again and stop people winning day events through micros...sure we will see numbers rise in tourneys from this and the challenge to win them will keep people interested too.

The newbie modification is still in Jay so you don't lose many points at all to the fake noobs.
I think this change will encourage more people to reset and deactivate though.
The numbers of fake noobs is just crazy at the moment anyway and whilst the newbie modification protects you it's also bleeding annoying beating one of the best players on here who has been around for years in a tourney and getting 0.6pts from the 2 frames for it!

there was an idea by chris on pool about a ranking system where if you played a newbie you wouldn't gain/lose anything but the newbie would gain/lose then the newbie can lose tag faster while top players can enjoy tournaments without fake newbies.

That is a good idea and something like this can still be added.

This would be good, but if you were to do this, I would suggest only enabling it for tournaments, as normal ranked games you can avoid playing newbies. I think this solution would satisfy everyone to be honest, as people who have reset aren't affecting other users rank as severely.

Agree, it would only be for tournament games. If that feature occurred in other games it would allow someone to easily donate points to a friend without loss. (Although this would be cheating and still could be caught it wouldn't be good idea to create such an exploitable hole unless there is a good reason.)
