I just got a android tablet yesterday and i am heartboken and i mean heartbroken to find that i cant play my funkypool on it. Nick man dont leave me hangin, make an app... ders a serious amount a money to be made with a app port of your game... none of the pool games on the app store could match it... is there any1 out there that feels the same or has found a way around this?

When you try play it, what does it say?
Will most probably be Java related.
Also, making an app for the iPhone and other markets wouldn't be easy to make. It would also cost money to make it. You also have to learn the language of that device, or pay for someone to make it for you.
This could possibly get a lot more people playing FP and FS. Thats if it takes off in the app market.

It is Java related Java tablets don't use the same type of compiler as usual computers so it wont run the java sdk that we install before we play it. Im a java programmer myself and I know that Android is written in Java and i have transferred some of my programmes onto tablets already, i'm not saying it will be an easy job but with the bulk of the code possibly already done i'm saying it might be worth the time to plug into the possible revenue of the app market..... and let me play my game :D

How would you imagine the game working on a touch screen? I suspect you would find aiming very hard as the shot cursor would be under your finger so you couldn't see if it was in the right place? Given that, trying to get any precision on cursor position or spin for that matter would be a nightmare. You can't use a pen/stylus/equivalent because, to the best of my knowledge, all tablets have capacitive touchscreens.
In order for the app to take off, it would surely be important that the game was playable...

good points there rapid pot i thought that possibly the edge or the crosshair would appear a little ahead of where your finger is being placed on the screen enabling you to position it properly. spin controls would possibly stay the same but the cue power might have to be moved to a bar you slide your finger on to shoot. losing some funkyness :(

Why wouldn't you use a stylus on a capacitive screen?
I've been playing funkypool on tablets since I signed up. It's just a matter of the current trend towards seriously cut-back tablets catching up with the technology of ten years ago...

Does a capacitive touchscreen not work by electrical current which is conducted by the moisture in your finger (or something like that)? Hence why you can't operate an iphone/HTC desire etc with a pen. However I have just done some research and you can buy capacitive styli that would work as it is conductive I think.
What I don't get though is, how would, in general, the tablet differentiate between you moving the cursor to aim, and you shooting? Unless you have a stylus with additional buttons on? (Of course that isn't the general case).

"A capacitive touchscreen panel consists of an insulator such as glass , coated with a transparent conductor such as indium tin oxide (ITO). As the human body is also an electrical conductor, touching the surface of the screen results in a distortion of the screen's electrostatic field, measurable as a change in capacitance. Different technologies may be used to determine the location of the touch. The location is then sent to the controller for processing. Unlike a resistive touchscreen, one cannot use a capacitive touchscreen through most types of electrically insulating material, such as gloves; one requires a special capacitive stylus, or a special-application glove with an embroidered patch of conductive thread passing through it and contacting the user's fingertip. This disadvantage especially affects usability in consumer electronics, such as touch tablet PCs and capacitive smartphones in cold weather."
That should answer your question

^^ Dual touch technology overcame those problems about 5 years ago, but don't tell any "modern" tablet users, they spontaneusly combust...
Usually the Toshiba Portege M780 (W7 Ultimate), which is excellent for detailed programs like Autocad etc, but also use the Samsung Q1(XP Tablet Ed) when I want something I can just slip in my pocket..
