Funkypool and funkysnooker have been given a fresh new layout. This layout uses some cool web technologies which should make the website both faster and prettier.

We now take advantage of special support from browsers such as Chrome 15, Firefox 7 and Internet Explorer 9. (Internet Explorer 7 and 8 are still supported, but Internet Explorer 6 is no longer supported.)

We now have a smart box to find players, type at least the first 3 letters to search. If you are logged in it will search and return your friends first.

Adverts are shown to the left by default, but you can switch them to the right using your edit options page. (The black backgrounds are removed, maintaining 2 different looks for each web page is unsustainable.)

Other changes include when you receive an email for a message the entire message will be shown within the email.

And there are some other pages, eg tournaments are also available by type (upcoming, finished etc).

Any problems please let me know, but don't forget to include your browser type and version.

...no offence but the new layout is awful, I have spoken to several members this morning and none of them welcome the change.

I tried to change the side on which the advert sat (not that I have them I am premium) and it wouldnt let me back onto my profile, it just went white so had to change this back.

Also as a premium member I found my online friends in place of the advert useful, where has this gone?

Finally, the white is really over the top, it's quite blinding to look at, all the people I spoke to this morning liked the darker look better.

When changing the adverts to the right hand side, I feel the Green/Blue should be a choice the background colour of forum browsing or viewing profile (like before the update. It would look nice with the shade of blue and green with black writing. The white is extremely bright on my laptop screen with silver! The top half looks nice in the shade of green then blinding white Other than that like new tabs and find player.)

yup agree i like the over little bits that have been done but it looks horrible sorry for bein blunt but theres no nicer way for me and seein my friends were the advertisin used to be was handy for me

My friends list doesn't show, and my name doesnt fit on the screen anymore in the forum

Im not so keen on it, old one was better at least when you logged in it would show a list on the right hand side of who's online. How are you meant to find out now ?

I second diamond's comment. Not a fan of the new layout at all, don't think funkypool needed a face lift, much prefered it as it was. As for some features, you cannot leave a tourny once you have entered, and you cannot see people who have entered the tourny? I was wondering is this something that just needs patched up or is it gonna be like this from now on?

They have not been deliberately removed. I will check.



You can click the tournament page as before although it's limited to only the next 5.

The rest is working fine for me, forums loading quicker. Definitely think the layout is better just would be even better if users had a choice of the background colour forum browsing like last time as I said above.

Also I like how can read the message in email, as it will be handy for my phone instead of me having to go on browser and sign in to read it

i like the new layout however it seems too white for me, i would like either blue or black if thats possible
