I think it would be a good idea if you could set your profile to private or public (even just public too your friends list) what do you funksters think?

Possibly settings your rankings to private maybe

Rankings would surely have to be public in the game though even if you wanted them private on your profile.

i think rankings need to stay on profile, however while on topic i wouldn't mind an xbox live type deal.

Online
Away (5 mins inactivity)
Busy (no pms from anyone even friends)
Offline (appear offline to people on friends list)

cant personally see any reason for this, if you wish to browse forums you do so without logging in, same with keeping eyes on players.

but i dont think you should hide as a guest if you want some peace, once i got so bored of constant pming that i actually created a second account for some friendly games, practice and some peace.

this was years ago though.

P.S. i actually hate logging in as a guest as i dont like the office layout i like the black metal like it used to be

as for keeping an eye on players online is way to go as offline is the same as inactivity in my eyes.

still pointless, if u dont like pm's you just tell them you don't want them or remove them as and when they come online.

Even if you was "appear offline" you'd still be seen if someone joined them room as it wouldn't say for example The_only_ego vs unknown and so forth.

what if you want to keep a head to head, then removing them isn't an option and telling someone you don't want to talk to someone especially your friends i feel its disrespect towards them/being rude.

back then a second account was perfect as i hated being on as a guest, no friends seeing your online and i could play friendly games in peace.

P.S. an idea, your in game as normal instead of dgeneratio v the_only_ego it would be Anonymous User vs the_only_ego

if you tell them you don't want pm's today if they really are that up tight and find that offensive/ disrespectful they have issues with theirself not you. Keeping a head to head can be put on your profile as a reminder, or a screen shot of previous results (pretty much the same hastle as putting this in if not alot less).

Still can't see it happening and i'm sure many others agree.

true i actually have plenty of ideas but some of them i won't even post because the admins hardly look at half of them, only admin who really takes an interest is clooney.

Surely knowin each others ranks is half the point, if people seeing things on your profile is such an issue why place them there!!

I think it would be pointless. You can decide whether you want to enter location/age/gender

I think you'll find its extrememly rare for ideas to be missed, indeed thats precisely why there isn't feedback on every single one. The fact is it is pretty rare now for anything to crop up that hasn't been mentioned a few times before, but there will never be any fresh ideas if everything is clamped down with "thats already been suggested", the whole point of the forum is to see members debate and evaluate and add to each others thoughts.

The site is and always has been driven by users ideas, how about a few small things like : US pool games, snooker, private messages, offline messages, tournaments, avatars, ability to choose opponents by all sorts of criteria, automated game starts, killer, the list goes on and those are just a few the more major ideas that have come from the forums, we alll know how often smaller things are tweaked.

Can't see any need to have your profile private to be honest

Is this a website to play pool or socialize? Maybe we should change the name to "funkypool-facebook" or "funkypool-twitter"

At times I feel sorry for the Admins and Moderators who have to referee all these arguments within the forums!

I experienced an unfortunate incident where someone who didnt like what they saw on my profile decided it was OK to read and make fun of me and my life on their own about me.

I personally would welcome the option of having a private setting where your stats etc are shown to everyone but your other information should be private or available to your friends list only.

Easy to say don't have an about me but that's also like saying don't use facebook, there is some information I would like to share with my friends and not other people.

If you use facebook tho no doubt you've got the same info on there, so it seems pointless having it on here aswell if you only want your friends to see it.

In my opinion you ask for it, there are many sad people on here that will make fun out of anything, so it's probs best just keeping all your private info on facebook.

i like to keep my social life and my entertainment separate, hence why i havent linked my profile with facebook. Not to mention, i am one of those people who like to keep my true identity unknown

The option is there and I wish to use it, my facebook has all my personal contact details on it, which I might not want funkypool friends to have access to. I just think we should be allowed the option to keep stuff private if we want. I already decline private pms from people I do not know but I want to restrict who can see my profile, is that so bad?

Also James without this person actually saying my name it would be hard to prove they are in fact talking about me without knowing the situation therefore a complaint wouldnt have done much good and they already on ignore.

Check the Modern Warefare 3 forum page.. this person knows the rules !
