http://www.funkypool.com/tournaments/81571

site has a fault, someone gets the right to claim a tourny because of a site issue? i'm aware noone lost any points i do believe but still... if you look at those who were left in there was around 2/3 people including myself that could've easily won that.

Don't see how the tourny should be able to stand on his profile at all, no offence to the bloke who "won" it.

probably because his connection was stable enough to stay logged in, i actually won 3-0 in mine but disconnected as i potted the black but im not fussed as.

A) i didn't lose any rank
B) i play for fun anyway

I lost my points, was 2 - 0 up against the so called winner but lost 3 - 2? everyone was logged out except for him.

Wouldn't mind getting my points back since i clearly just got robbed.

Nick get your finger out this has been an issue for a while now

its not as simple as that though Jay, you only lost 1 game worth which was about 4.5, a player of your skill can gain that back in 3 games.

is beside the point james it's the principle, if nick wants to make tournys the main focus, then he needs to stop stupid tournys like that being given out....

I run 20mbps which is the highest at the moment in the internet service (i believe unless the 50 has come out) so can't see how my connection would go before someone elses.

i still stand by points need to be returned and the tourny wiped off the list completly with an unfound winner.

This has been explained time and time again...

It is not a site fault, your internet connections have difficulty with the server, there was a diagram drawn somewhere showing this nice and simply by Damien I believe.

I don;t know the full ins and outs of it as I am not a computer boffin, but if it was a site issue everyone would have been logged out and obviously that bloke wasn't. So nothing to do with the site it is to do with your coonnection the the server, or so that is what I understand from a previous post from Spinner (I think) on a different thread.

Do remember that unless everyone is logged out, there is nothing wrong with the server.

Just because your connection to other sites may seem OK, doesn't mean the connection to funkypool is constant.

This graphic gives a good idea of the number of connections that can be involved :

Don't believe everything a moderator says!

When every single user gets logged out, then it's likely to be the server. When some stay on, it isn't. My diagram will show this perfectly.

The pink blob is the funkysnooker server, the black/grey lines all connections down the line. Now I suggest in this case the error occurred on one of the other coloured lines.

This happens quite alot its even happened to me

However i was the one that got the tournament win were as my final opponent was logged out due to server issues

I think its all based on how strong internet connections are

Ive seen people with weaker connections being logged out within a minute an others not responding but responding soon afterwards due to stronger as dgen said stable connections

Yeah i see what you mean Phil, but i was not responding then i was responding again took a shot and it went all weird again. Like i did say above i have a very good connection and its never logged me out before when this has happened and i had a weaker connection back then.

Im pretty sure Jay that no connection is perfect although some are very good an very strong theres always going to be a moment were your connection signal has gone down

Maybe thats what happened and thats why you was logged out, however i disagree with the points loss i think thats really unfair

People with strong connections tend to not respond then respond again and then not respond etc i guess you were just unlucky this time that you was actually logged out aswell as the other players in the tournament!

You'll bounce back quick you always do

Wrong, it wasn't the server as not every user was logged out, it was a connection issue.

Just because a user may have a strong connection to the internet doesn't mean they have a strong connection to this site. As shown in the 2 diagrams (mine is clearly the better of the 2 there), it can be anywhere down the line which can easily affect many users, but not all.

it is a shame when it does happen, but just take it on the chin. As already said, not everyone loses connection all of the time depending on location

Yeah like i said before was the losing the points that bothered me because others didn't! fair enough not to be big headed but i know i can beat anyone on this site when i am on form and i can make the points back but its the fact i lost them and no one else did.
