Braintree looking to build on the gap of 3 point's I have at the top, want to build it as much as possibly to avoid losing the title at the end of the season. Squad is a good size.

attacking doesn't mean it'll beat defensive, you use defensive when going up against a stronger team. V. Defensive mentality and 4-5-1 defensive was a good choice, against your 3-5-2 pushing wingers into CAM's and attacking style meant you would be vulnerable to counter attack which Jema used. Matched the 5 in midfield and tight marked the 2 FC's with her 2 CB's. She edged you out on possession which should be right for those formations, just about taking your chances. With the players you have thats a worry that there wasn't much difference in shots.

I would say in general: attacking beats normal, normal beats defensive, defensive beats attacking. Though that depends on the formations and players used.

Chelsea used defensive formations and very defensive mentality and won a champions league against much better teams in Barca and Bayern

As for Messi, I don't think there'd be anyone not interested in getting him
