hey guys, I've just been watching ronnie osulivan playing speed pool on YouTube and was wondering if this was introduced as a new game who would be interested in playing?
Game format would be 8 ball uk, and quite simply would be pot all the balls in any order as fast as you can! The game would have a timer at the top right corner and would start as soon as you strike the cue ball. If you pot the White this would be positioned wherever you wanted behind the baulk line just like in 8 ball uk now. And the timer would stop the moment the last ball was potted (not when the White stops)
You would get a special medal next to your name like daily medals and you would keep it till someone beat you.
Please post if you would use this or not? And I will speak (message) nick with the results.
Mods please leave this open for 2 weeks please? So I can get feedback.

Love this idea but I'm not too sure on the medals.

I think having the same as what killerpool.com has would work, which is basically pot everything as fast as you can and the time would then be recorded on your profile.

Also have a section in the rankings for the fastest times.

The only way I could see medals being involved is a separate daily event for the fastest time, basically the same as how the Tournapoints are done.

yea i always thought that speed pool should be on here, i completely agree with it yall two, but i think the timer should keep going when a ball scratches and add like 2 or 3 seconds to it

8US would be a better table, if you foul it should add 5 seconds to your overall time imo.

Just had a look at the site you mentioned jim, not what I was thinking at all? This would be on funkypool and it gives new members something new to play without (excuse me now!) having no chance of winning against people like you (brilliant players) they could come over here and after seeing what the site has to offer become members? That's what I'm trying to do! Bring more players here to challenge the top players. To believe in themselves that they can beat top class players! And also give a new game to the site?

yes. i dont see why not. more games/stats give more people something to be proud of, and i imagine most people play more often when they're proud of their profile. speed isnt my strength but it is for some.

speaking of more stats, anyone who agrees with me, please, give my thread a bump (highest rankings column in overall scores)
